Don’t build a website to sell your products

Instead of building a website shop to sell your products online why not use two of the most popular sites to actually sell for you?

Ebay

cartIf you’ve decided to sell an actual product on the Internet then you have two choices when it comes to how you create the infrastructure to manage it. Option one is to hook into an existing provider’s system, which is how the eBay shops work. As an eBay shop owner,as opposed to a personal seller, you are able to add your goods to the search-based interface that most shoppers are familiar with, while also having the more traditional catalogue-style shop that your customers are used to and can browse through.

Why consider starting an Internet business?

keyboard-fingersIt’s one thing to make a decision to set up a business, but now think about the benefits of doing it online. Some people have suggested that the beginning of the Internet is comparable to the dawn of the printing press. In the same way that the printing press made books affordable enough to spread to the masses, the Internet allows anybody in their bedroom to link with billions of consumers around the planet.

A Low cost way for starting a business

With the Internet there’s great need for the financial obligation of renting a shop which thereby lowers the risk. Server hosting costs replace those of the shop rent, and shop fixtures and infrastructure are replaced by an basic electronic shopping cart, with finally adverts in the local press paving the way for Google AdWords ( or the Microsoft equivalent called Bing Ads) with a global audience. As you can see the Internet doesn’t just reduce the cost of establishing your business, it also presents a great opportunity to sell and advertise to everyone everywhere. Whether you take this opportunity or not depends on the types of product or service you’re thinking of offering and your desires.

Changing the default “Save File” location for Outlook 2010

Keeping a track of email's to and from clients is part of any good company's Document Management System. When saving any emails or attatchments in Outlook 2010 the default folder is "My documents" however if you need to change this to any other location there's facility in the "options" panel to do this.

After some searching on Google I found an article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base that provides instructions on how to change the default path:

This is achieved via Registery Editor so be careful making the changes.

Can’t create a new folder in Windows 7

A few days ago my Windows 7 Professional machine stopped displaying the "new folder" option in my right-click menu and the "new folder" button at the top of the file manager stopped working. If you're a developer like me I'm sure you have a need to create new folders in your directory structure fairly often, however having to go into DOS mode to achieve this all the time becomes annoying.

After doing some searching on the Internet to see if others have experienced this problem I finally found the solution described on the page below:

Simply follow the instructions and download and install the registry modification and the "new folder" folder functionality will work again.
